ردًّا على تصريح وزير الطاقة والمياه الدكتور وليد فياض عبر برنامج نهاركم سعيد على شاشة المؤسسة اللبنانيّة للإرسال حيث أبدى رغبته باستكمال مشروعيّ سد جنّة وسدّ بسري وبمعالجة سدّ المسيلحة،
يهمّ جمعيّة الأرض لبنان أن تذكّر الدكتور فياض:
١- بأنّه حالياً وزير تصريف أعمال، لا يحق له القيام بالاعمال التي ترمي إلى إحداث أعباء جديدة أو التصرف باعتمادات هامة أو إدخال تعديل جوهري على سير المصالح العامة وفي اوضاع البلاد السياسية والاقتصادية
٢- في مجلس النواب اقتراح قانون يرمي إلى إعلان مرج بسري محميّة طبيعيّة تمّ تسجيله في العام ٢٠٢٢
٣- إنّ مشروع سدّ بسري قد سقط تحت ضغط المعارضة الشعبيّة والدوليّة وذلك لأسباب بيئيّة وقانونيّة ولعدم جدواه الإقتصاديّة
وفي النهاية، وقبل اتخاذ أي قرار بالقيام بأي مشروع إنشائي من هذا النوع في لبنان، لا بدّ من محاسبة كل من ساهم وشارك بتدمير الطبيعة وهدر المال العام من خلال تلك مشاريع السدود غير المجدية.
In response to Minister of Energy and Water, Dr. Walid Fayyad’s statement on the program “Naharkom Saïd” on LBCI, where he expressed his desire to complete the projects of the Janneh and Bisri dams, and continue the works on the Mseilha dam,
TERRE Liban would like to remind Dr. Fayyad:
1- That he is currently an acting minister, he does not have the authority to undertake actions that would impose new burdens, allocate significant funds, or make fundamental changes to public affairs and to the political & economic status.
2- A proposed law declaring the Bisri Valley a natural reserve, was registered in Parliament in 2022.
3- The Bisri dam project was haulted due to local and international pressure, citing environmental, legal, and economic non-viability.
In conclusion, before making any decision to proceed with such construction projects in Lebanon, it is imperative to hold accountable those who contributed to the destruction of nature and the squandering of public funds through these failed dam projects.
